Smarter progressions, not just heavier weight. Mount Sinai.
Dom coaches smarter progressions at Mount Sinai.
Dom’s competitive streak started at home — mostly from losing to an older brother who beat him at every sport growing up. That drive to close the gap is what pulled him into training in the first place.
He picked Redefine for a simple reason: it’s more knowledgeable than the gyms around it. He brings a problem-solver’s eye to the floor, always hunting for the smarter way to make an exercise harder than just piling on more weight.
Who Dom works best with
First-timers, where he can build the foundation the right way from day one.
He caught a client’s drop-foot tendency that had gone unaddressed. Now that the client is aware of it, the two of them are actively improving their gait.
What most people get wrong
That progress means adding weight. There are better, smarter ways to make an exercise more challenging — and that’s where a lot of the real results come from.
In Dom’s words
“I like catching the thing other people miss, then fixing it. That’s where progress actually lives.”
What it takes to coach at Redefine
Nobody trains clients at Redefine Fitness without passing a screening test, an in-person skill practical, and a written exam just to get hired, then testing out of a 30-day onboarding against our 100-page Training Master Guide. Every Thursday from 1-2 PM we close both gyms so the entire staff trains together, and every specialist sits annual exams on a tiered education ladder. We also created a New York State Department of Labor approved Fitness Specialist apprenticeship. Fitness is medicine, and this is what the standard behind it looks like.
