Tyler Flowers

Came back from a serious car accident and knee surgery. Finds the root cause, then builds you strong.

About Tyler

Tyler knows what it takes to come back from an injury, because he has done it twice.

Tyler was a heavier kid, and his dad was always training. During COVID he started working out in his basement and helping his grandparents around the house, lost a lot of weight, and got hooked on how the body works. That turned into wanting to teach it to other people.

In April 2024 a serious car accident injured his knees, shoulders and lower back. After knee surgery and hundreds of hours of physical therapy he made it back to full strength and kept chasing his bodybuilding goals. In December 2025 he sprained his AC joint and rebuilt that shoulder too.

He came to Redefine because it is built on assessment and evidence, not just workouts. Looking for the root cause was always how he coached. Here it is the job.

Who Tyler works best with

People rebuilding after an injury or surgery, and first timers who feel intimidated walking in. As a corrective exercise specialist he starts with whatever is limiting how you move, and his bodybuilding background takes clients past pain free to truly strong.

A win Tyler is proud of

A client wanted to lose weight and build muscle, but years of shoulder mobility problems held her back. Tyler started with corrective work to restore her shoulder, then built a strength program around her goals. She lost 40 pounds, built visible muscle, and moves her shoulders freely again. The biggest change was her confidence.

What most people get wrong

Treating symptoms instead of causes. A knee hurts, so the squats get cut and everyone moves on without asking why. It could be tight hips, weak glutes or stiff ankles. Tyler looks for the reason, and he applies the same thinking to mindset, consistency and progress.

In Tyler’s words

“When you fix what is causing the problem instead of working around it, clients stop getting hurt and start making real progress.”

“Fitness really is medicine.”
The Standard

What it takes to coach at Redefine

Nobody trains clients at Redefine Fitness without passing a screening test, an in-person skill practical, and a written exam just to get hired, then testing out of a 30-day onboarding against our 100-page Training Master Guide. Every Thursday from 1-2 PM we close both gyms so the entire staff trains together, and every specialist sits annual exams on a tiered education ladder. We also created a New York State Department of Labor approved Fitness Specialist apprenticeship. Fitness is medicine, and this is what the standard behind it looks like.
