Lance Miller
Your first conversation at Redefine. A teacher, not a cheerleader.
Lance is the person you talk to first. He has trained for longevity himself and knows what a rebuild takes.
Lance has always been an athlete. The shift came when well established fitness mentors showed him how to train for the long run instead of the next season. He has come back from a torn meniscus and a torn labrum, one repaired surgically and one without, and he credits consistent, structured training and nutrition with keeping him healthy since.
He joined Redefine because it leads with fitness is medicine and puts nutrition and recovery at the center of the plan, not at the edge of it. When you call or book a 15 minute conversation, Lance is the one who listens to your history and tells you honestly whether we are the right fit.
Who Lance works best with
An older client base, often people who are new to training or who have tried before without the result they wanted. He enjoys teaching people how to train efficiently and pair it with a nutrition plan that holds.
A former Navy SEAL came to him after months of physical therapy had stalled following a stroke. Structured, functional training rebuilt the strength, stability and balance that gave him back the quality of life he had before.
What most people get wrong
Clients do not need a cheerleader, they need a teacher. Lance believes training should be functional first: stability, balance, an engaged core and posture as priorities, so the strength you build shows up in your life, not just in the studio.
In Lance’s words
“The relationship we build is meant to reach far beyond any immediate physical goal. Serving, communicating and connecting come first, every time.”
What it takes to coach at Redefine
Nobody trains clients at Redefine Fitness without passing a screening test, an in-person skill practical, and a written exam just to get hired, then testing out of a 30-day onboarding against our 100-page Training Master Guide. Every Thursday from 1-2 PM we close both gyms so the entire staff trains together, and every specialist sits annual exams on a tiered education ladder. We also created a New York State Department of Labor approved Fitness Specialist apprenticeship. Fitness is medicine, and this is what the standard behind it looks like.
Start with your $200 screening, or a 15 minute call if you are not sure yet. Bring your history. We build the plan from it.
